Tuesday October 4, Millau

Looking across the roof tops to the Millau Viaduct
this morning.
Another cracker of a day, clear blue skies and very pleasant temperatures reaching the early 20’s, can’t complain. Our slow pace of life continues. Caught up on some emails and photos this morning before walking into town, meandering around the streets, not sure where we were going. Town was humming with people and traffic and then soon after 12 everything slowed down and by 12.30 most shops had shut for their “long” lunch break until 2.30 or 3.00pm. It certainly takes a bit of getting used to. If you want to do some shopping you need to be there earlier or go back in the afternoon.

We finally stopped at a more modern type of café for lunch and tried the baked camembert with charcuterie (salamis and other cold smoked meats) and a salad. Really enjoyed it although couldn’t finish all the cheese..it was huge! When my brother was here, he had to sample a tiramisu for a dessert wherever he was, and now that he has gone home, Ian thinks he needs to keep up the tradition!!!

Found our way back to the apartment, had done quite a bit of walking and enjoyed a wee siesta. I wandered off later with my camera and popped into the supermarket for some bits for an easy graze for dinner. Getting very lazy!!!

A new use for an old IH tractor.
Inside they had used a Massey
Fergusson bonnet.

Lunch today

The reflections under the bridge are amazing.

Super pix as always Meg. That lunch looks delicious and love the sun on stone images and the up-cycled International.
All sounds very relaxing...just the ticket!

"an easy graze" sounds just the ticket after that lovely looking lunch !!
Super variety of photos today as always. I had to google Millau - earlier I called it a little village, when really it isn't at 22,000. The viaduct certainly is an impressive structure.

That lunch is just my style. The early morning light on the stone is a winner.
