Sunday September 7

September 7, RV Park and Camping, Louisbourg, NS

The rough weather didn’t arrive overnight, just a few showers, but it came in early afternoon, quite windy but not a lot of rain. Not much use for sightseeing today, so we drove through the main centre of Sydney and stopped at a big shopping area for some retail therapy…bought a few magazines…photography for me, and woodworking for Ian, to read on a wet afternoon. Ian spotted a Home Depot, so he went for a look around while I stayed put and took a few photos of the familiar signs we see in every town. By the time we headed off for the 30 minute trip to Louisburg it was getting quite rough. Found a great little RV park right on the waterfront by the wharf area, where we can watch the activity from the van, the boats are bobbing about, and some were getting unloaded. Ruakiwi is rocking a little, but not too bad. Evidently Hurricane Hanna is not going to be as ferocious here as first expected. Plan to put our coats on and walk to a nearby restaurant for tea tonight.
