Tonights view....beautiful

Just before we arrived into Sandsvall yesterday we spotted a car wash which had an outside bay and people were washing their motorhome. Decided this morning that we needed to give Ruakiwi a good wash and hot wax so returned to the GoWash depot. Used Google translate and read up all the instructions and put my card in and paid for 100SKR for our bay. Nothing happened! Couldn’t get the machine to do anything. Then a chap came in with his car so had a chat with him. He said you needed to put money onto a GoWash card to get it to work and he gave us a spare card of his. So started again and put 100SKR onto it….swiped it in our bay, and nothing happened. The guy came to our aid, and decided our bay wasn’t working, and then he realised nothing was happening in any of the other bays. Very frustrating and there was no number to ring, only an email. I sent one and got a reply, they would attend to the problem in the next 3 working days…grrrr! Saw there was another GoWash on the other side of town and as we had money on the card headed there. Not only did it not have an outside bay but it wasn’t working either. Felt very frustrated as had paid 200SKR and got nothing for it! Had to kiss goodbye to the money and get on with the day!

We wanted to check out the Baltic Coast around this area and headed to Lörudden where we had read about a good place to park and enjoy the small harbour. It was a very pleasant drive out although the roads were a little narrow and we had to pull into passing bays when other vehicles came along. Arrived to find a very busy carpark, managed to find a spot and went for a walk into the small little harbour. It really was quaint and enjoyed the rocky coast, but after a lunch stop decided to continue onto something else. Hit the jackpot when we headed here to the campground at Mellanfjärdens, such a beautiful harbour surrounded by typical Swedish red and white boat houses and many boats. Such a peaceful place. We wandered around the houses and into the centre of the village, found a little museum and then I found a wonderful co-operative gallery with local art and craft. Met the two delightful ladies who were working today. Wegelius is a weaver of superb fine fabric, and it brought back memories of the days when I used a loom. Mia is an artist and took me upstairs to the gallery where an exhibition had just opened and her work was on display. I really appreciated her guiding me around and telling me about all the artists and their backgrounds. These ladies made my day.

A few spits of rain tonight but no wind and a very pleasant evening to enjoy this beautiful place.

Great pictures today (as always)....nice to find a gallery with friendly ladies. You do find super spots usually with watery views to park up
