Time for Ruakiwi to have a wash.

Up on the high plateau it was quite fresh this morning and I was in no hurry to get out of bed! After such a clear night woke to low cloud around the mountains but thankfully no rain. We continued along the road with more great scenery before a very steep descent into the town of Ringebu. Fuelled up and a few fresh supplies then we joined the E6 south. It was a rude awakening after where we had been, the road was extremely busy as we followed Lake Mjösa south and through Lillehammer. Had read up a bit about the town as after the winter Olympics in 1994 it became very well known, but the guide book suggested giving it a miss especially during the summer holiday months.

Continued along the edge of the lake and after a lunch stop called into the town of Gjovik where our favourite P4N mentioned a service station with all emptying and refilling facilities. And while there discovered they had a car wash with an outside bay for motorhomes, so finally after our earlier disastrous attempt we gave Ruakiwi a good debug, shampoo and wax treatment and she looks just so much better. The long 3 years during lockdown has left her quite dull.

Thankfully it was time to leave the E6 and head west on 33 and far less traffic. Another very enjoyable drive through mainly rural land, spotting milk tankers collecting milk although all the animals seemed to be housed.

Can’t imagine travelling without Park4Night, it really is our “goto” app to find out everything a motorhomer needs…from where to stay, where to empty and fill and also where you can refill gas bottles. And as we changed to a new bottle last night we have already found a place tomorrow where we can get it refilled. Although they usually last 3 weeks, prefer to get it sorted earlier than later.  Found another good spot for the night beside a river and will sleep with the noise of water tumbling over rocks.

Last night, so clear.

See this so often, a line up of letter boxes with a roof!

Looks to be a fairly new house with a fresh
grass roof.

Leaving the plateau this morning.

Beautiful countryside.

Tonight's view.

I use the app Track my Tour
each day to follow where we
have been. Gives an indication
of our travels in Sweden and
Norway. Let me know if you
would like a link to this app.

Hi Meg. I’m throughly enjoying reading your posts. I’ve been following your route using an old Europe map, but would love to have the link to the app. It’s 1 degree here this morning - a perfect sunny, cold winters morning. Your summer photo’s are great.

So green and lush looking countryside. Looks beautiful Meg. Sounds like you are having a great adventure and certainly covering a lot of terrain - judging by the app.

I'd love a link to the App please.

I meant to ask is Ruakiwi a left hanbd drive? Must be otherwise driving on those narrow roads would need even stronger nerves of steel?!!

Your photos are beautiful, of course!
