Monday October 21 Snow Canyon State Park, St George, UT
First stop
this morning was the Ford agency in St George….and they confirmed our
suspicions, the bushes that were put in were the wrong ones…and yes they would
need to be replaced, but no, they couldn’t get the parts in until tomorrow
afternoon, but we could drive on it without causing too many issues. So the quick
exit from St George wasn’t going to happen, but amazing how once again lemons
get turned into lemonade!!!
We had
heard about the Snow
Canyon State
Park not far from town, so after a short visit to
an Outlet Mall and lunch in town we came out here Just great, camping in the
middle of a red rock canyon.
During the
heat of the afternoon it was good to put our feet up and relax with a book…and
a few ….zzzz’s. Then I set off with my camera and spent several hours hiking in
the park while Ian pottered around and did some maintenance on the van.
Just loved
getting out for a walk, and finally there were a few clouds along with some
late afternoon light…all good for the “photographer”!!!! Hardly anyone out and
about, felt like I had the park to myself. Looking closely into this “red”
environment there are so many small plants, and surprised how many are
flowering. So today the photos are all from the canyon.
Ian had met
the neighbours, the parents are both Welsh Doctors as well as their daughter,
and the son is a teacher and his wife. The 5 of them are travelling in a rental
RV, enjoyed chatting to them.
