Sunday August 25, Anacortes
Today is
our last full day here, and it was time to go to the supermarket and stock up
on supplies. We drove to the store in Ruakiwi and turned the GPS on for the
first time to make sure I remembered how to use it. Found it hard as have got
so used to using the screen on the iPad, that the GPS seems rather outdated. It
would be good to use iMaps but realise it would eat into our monthly data
allowance. Supermarket shopping always takes longer as the products are
different and you really need to look hard at what you are actually buying.
We all went
over to the neighbouring town of La
Conner for a great lunch at a Brew Pub. The town is on
the Swinomish Channel, so after lunch the guys wandered off to check out the
marina while Sherry and I enjoyed the Museum of Northwest Art
where Sherry is a docent. All in all a really relaxing afternoon.
And tonight Sherry treated us to another great
meal with spotted prawns and Alaskan halibut….we really have been spoilt.
