Saturday October 11

Saturday October 11 Auburn KOA Campground Indiana…again!

Whew, today has been sooooo hot…feels just like the middle of summer! Evidently close to 90 degrees…maybe near 30 Celsius. It’s been a very busy day, Ian cleaned out all the outside compartments on Ruakiwi and gave her a wash, while I cleaned out the inside cupboards, did washing and sorted out what is going home. It got so hot by about four that we took some time out, and had a few beers.
Hauled out the suitcases….including the new one we bought, and packed up ready for the flights ahead of us over the next week.
Ian had bought some digital scales for weighing trout ….they weigh up to 25kgs…he must be hopeful!!! So we weighed bags to make sure we are on target for travelling….somehow there seems to be quite a bit more going home, even though we are leaving some in Ruakiwi.
Spotted a harvester working in a nearby working on the soya bean, so wandered off with my camera late this afternoon to take a few photos.
Writing this at 9 at night, with the door and window open, and in shorts and singlets…hard to believe. Last night in Ruakiwi for this year!

Hello Meg and Ian. I'm going through and reading all the past entries while listening to boys and cars in the background, Bathurst is on this weekend. Been a bit slack in reading the blog so really enjoying working my way though and reading about all your adventures. Amazing photos, very beautiful.
Have a safe trip back to New Zealand, note quite shorts and singlets weather yet but getting close.
Travel safe.
Rebecca.
