Friday October 10

Friday October 10 Auburn KOA Campground, Indiana

We are back to where we started from, 3 months ago, ready for the final cleanup and packing of bags before storing Ruakiwi on Sunday.
All set to head out from camp this morning when Ian found that the two inside rear duals were flat!!!! My heart sank…not again. Realised that with both tyres going flat, it must have been to do with the valve extensions that we had put on back in Syracuse. We drove into Bluffton, about 5 minutes away, and once again found a great truck garage. They immediately got onto it, found that the valve stems were faulty, and within minutes had removed them, pumped up the tires and we were back on the road again…whew, what a relief. Stopped in Lima and got some bits and pieces, then cruised through the back roads into Indiana.
The temperatures have been unseasonably high, a real Indian summer, today reaching 83 degrees (28 celcuis) and tomorrow is predicted to be higher.
We headed for a campground in Geneva, south of Fort Wayne, which is in another Amish area. The community here looks to be a little less prosperous to what we saw in Eastern Ohio, and the properties were not so tidy. We saw many families on the road this afternoon, in their buggies…maybe there was a function on.
Unfortunately when we got to the campground found that the laundry wasn’t functioning, and as I wanted to get a lot done before packing up, pulled out. Drove an hour north and have found a very good campground, although once again it is very close to the interstate…surprisingly though after awhile you don’t hear the drone.
