A fisherman's camp. |
ot a lot to report today as we have stayed put and had a rest day. Lots of rain overnight but today has been very cloudy and windy and quite cold. More rain coming in tonight. The biggest plus of the day was getting three loads of washing done, dried and packed away. Have never been at a camp where you didn’t have to pay for using the laundry, so I made good use of it. Had to have my phone with me to translate the instructions on the washing machine and drier though, but managed okay.
We had a good walk and checked out the museum and
surrounding area, had read a lot about this place online which was good as we
could appreciate and understand the photos and the videos, especially as everything
was in Swedish. Most impressed with how hard the guys worked sorting the logs
out as they came down the river.
As we walked around the area, there is such a feeling of the deep history of the place and what has been left behind after the logging operation ceased 40 years ago, is falling into disrepair despite their efforts to utilise the buildings.
A large model of the rivers feeding logs into this area. |

Your second photo showing the river and enviorns puts your words into perspective (if you know what I mean).
Thank goodness for Google translation
