A line up of seagulls enjoying the sunset!!

Woke to a lovely clear morning, although a little chilly. Caught up on some housekeeping chores while Ian was sorting out bikes and bins in the boot, and sat in the sun with a coffee watching the traffic on the river. Took the bikes out for a ride around the marina and then to Jumbo, the local grocery store. Really enjoy being able to do this all on a bike and pack up the groceries into our bike panniers.  In Netherlands there are so many bike paths and many are numbered routes. I have the app that shows all the routes in the area enabling you to work out where you want to go and how many kilometres.
After lunch the sky was looking a bit dark and we hung around for awhile thinking it was going to rain like yesterday, but finally decided to head off for a ride as it was no worse. Big mistake!! We had ridden about 8 kms when it started to rain and did it rain. We sheltered for a while under a tree but it just got heavier and we were getting wet. Nothing for it but to put the bikes into turbo mode and head for home. We had our parka’s on but not proper raincoats and by time we got home we were saturated. Have never ridden in weather like it, needed windscreen wipers on my glasses. Put the awning out and hung up all our wet stuff as the storm continued, even some thunder. And the weather forecast didn’t predict it!!! And it ended up with a perfect warm calm evening!!!
The sky was looking a bit ominous when we left...

..and as we watched this large car transporter
the rain was not far away!

By this evening the sky was clear and a great
sunset with all the seagulls settling in for the evening.

Good job there's global warming in the air.
