What you do during a boring trip on the autobahn,
play with multiple exposures in the camera!

Once again we are staying at the best “hotel” in Germany….with our good friends Conny and Hitten, it is like coming home and we get spoilt rotten!
Yesterday we drove from Soest, taking the motorway option, the best to get around bigger towns and cities, but definitely not our favourite. The roads are full of trucks in the slow lane, a bit like a railway!! But no problems and arrived to a very warm welcome. Lots of talking all afternoon as we sat outside in the garden in the sunshine over an extended lunch and with a few wines.  They have been very busy in their garden since we were last here at the beginning of May, on our way to Italy. Too busy chatting and forgot to get the camera out for some photos and today the sun is not shining, but will try and get some later.
This morning we were off at eight with a booking that Hitten made for us at Mercedes, to try and sort out the continuing issues with the electrics for the driver’s window. They had ordered a new switch for the window when we were here in May, it was sent to us to collect in Rome where Ian fitted it and initially it worked but the next day it wouldn’t move. We left the van with them for the morning and finally I think they have sorted the problem out. There found an issue with one of the wires so he ran a separate wire to reconnect and it is working. Just hope that it continues.
This afternoon we all drove to Tonivorst, a town about 40 minutes away to look at electric bikes for Conny. She has been thinking about getting one for some time and was able to take several models out for a bit of a test drive. She came back beaming, now she needs to mull over which of the models she wants. And I am happy as I bought a mirror for my bike, something I have been wanting for ages.
The weather is much cooler today, even had to get my merino out, think summer has disappeared.
Testing bikes.

What are the prices for E-bikes like in Germany? I have found them to range from $1,800 - $5500 down here. Oh no, are getting to the end of this years adventure?

Hi Vicki, the shop we were in was for higher end German bikes and they ranged from €3000 up, an NZ prices don’t sound too bad!! Thinking of getting a bike?? And yes not many days left now, crossing the channel at the end of the month.
