Tuesday July 25, Port Blanc, Plogasnou
The sun trying to peep through this morning. |
We are back on the coast again
tonight, and so enjoying this region. Drove quite a distance today as we headed
towards the Northern Coast. Another interesting drive that took us through a
large dairying region, even saw a herd of jersey cows. The farms appeared to be
bigger than we have previously seen throughout France. As we got closer to the
coast, the land was used extensively for vegetable production including large
fields of artichokes, along with cabbages, onions and shallots.
Lunchtime stop in Daoulas |
Great bridge passing through Brest. |
Many different steeples. |
Only noticed the cabbage tree in this shot when I had it on the screen! |
Each town has its own church with
a huge steeple, the style of which seems unique to this area. We stopped for a
lunch break at the small village of Daoulas beside the tidal estuary, along
with a number of cyclists. Guessing there is a cycle route through here.
In my book “All the Aires”, came
across this spot overlooking the harbour, and very pleased that we were able to
squeeze into a spot as quite a few vans here. Brittany has the highest tides in
Europe and when we arrived the boats were all high and dry but in no time at
all the tide was in. A really peaceful beautiful location.
Our view tonight...beautiful when the tide is in! |
