A river cruise boat turning around in front of the camp this
morning - it stirred up a bit of mud!

Really feel like we are on holiday at the moment, lazing around and enjoying the weather especially as we shifted campsites this morning to a better spot under some really leafy trees. There is a good breeze which is real welcome.
Walked about 200 metres into town this morning and found a hairdresser, and yes, she could cut my hair at midday. Came back to camp and used their laundry to wash sheets and towels, and had a good clean of Ruakiwi. She is looking so much better. The haircut worked out fine, she couldn’t speak any English and my French is very limited but with sign language and google translate to let her know that usually I didn’t have any power to use a hair drier. She had short hair so that was the starting point and I now have a really short haircut which will be good for the hot weather especially with wearing bike helmets. In fact, Ian was most impressed and when I suggested that he had his cut too he didn’t complain. Shot back and made an appointment before he changed his mind!
Ian pottered around all day making his ramps to load the bike in to the garage. No Mitre 12 here, just a very flimsy table as a workbench where he spent ages cutting the aluminium with the cheapest hacksaw he could find when we went shopping yesterday. But it worked and the $18 battery operated drill bit did the job too. The result works a treat. After dinner tonight had a short walk into town when the air had cooled a little.
Very few photos today, just a very relaxing one.
Ian "fettling"!

The baker served me in the boulangerie.

A short haircut!

Evening in the old part of town.
