Friday November 11, Ardleigh, England

This area of Rotterdam is wall to wall glass houses

It was so nice yesterday to finally have a warmer day to leave Europe without the cold wind which has been chilling us over the last week. Ambled down to the ferry terminal at the Hook, parked in the queue and had a walk around the area in the sun. The loading was very sedate with a lot less people on board than when we crossed over at the beginning of August, but then it was summer holiday time.
It was an extremely smooth crossing, (for which I am very grateful) and after 7 hours we arrived at Harwich. It took about half an hour to unload and clear border control then it was off into the dark, concentrating hard on staying on the correct side of the road. Not easy as the roads were wet and there was a steady stream of trucks heading to the ferry. But we arrived safely 30 minutes later at the campground in Ardleigh where we stayed last August.
Today was a cracker of a day with clear skies and sun. Just perfect as we spent the day having a good Spring clean of Ruakiwi and sorting everything out ready to put her into storage. By 4pm the sun had gone and think we are in for a very cold night.

That cheese shop looked like heaven to me. It has been interesting reading the reactions to the election from people on blip. Darryl from Tarawera has been teaching at school and we have had some good chats. Sam and Bridie safely home yesterday.
