Saturday July 16, Missoula MT

An early start for Ian this morning….he and Richard met up with our other kiwi friend Matthew and his brother in law for 9 holes of golf. Ian was the caddy!!!!

Casey and Richard live very close to town, so when the guys got back we all walked downtown to the Saturday Market. Lots of stalls and people getting their weekly supplies. Moana had never had her face painted, so when we spotted the lady painting faces it was a good late birthday treat for her…she turned 4 last week. Such fun. Bought some lunch and coffee and sat beside the river having a picnic a lovely relaxed way to spend the day.

Then off to another family do….Matthew was having an early birthday barbecue and we drove over to his home, about 10 minutes away. Casey made his birthday present….a real NZ bacon and egg pie, he was delighted. Matthew has a Big Green Egg barbecue/smoker and he cooked a leg of lamb and some beef, wow it was so good, amazing flavour and very moist. The lamb was a real treat for all the Kiwis.

Matthew is rebuilding a little old classic caravan for family camping adventures, it is a cutie and looking really good. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening, and good to catch up with everyone.

I'm the Mo(grandmother) to those precious girls in Missoula! This has been the best day, following your travels, your photos, and journaling. We have been to so many of the places you have described. The log covered beaches, forests, giant slugs, blue starfish, Goats on Roof; departed Port Hardy for a week of kayaking with whales in the Straight; and made a call home from the car ferry line to hear Casey say, "Mama, I am flipping crazy for a Kiwi." Well, you know the rest of that story.
Thank you for a wonderful day of memories. Please come back to Colorado!!!!!!! We would love to meet you! You can park in our drive anytime.

Hi Susan, I have heard so much about you from Casey and would so love to meet you, but not sure if we will get back to Colorado. Maybe you better come to Kiwi Land! Saw the photos of your fabulous garden where your niece got married.
We have had such special times with Casey, Richard and the girls and really feel part of their family. We miss our grandies so always great to play surrogate grandparents for a few days and get our fix of cuddles. Such great wee girls.
Glad you enjoyed the blog and could picture our travels.
Thanks so much for your comments.
