Monday September 1
September 1 Monday, Still at West Point
Quite a day, and we haven’t shifted! The strong wind woke us a bit during the night, then it started raining. It blew and rained for most of the day, so we decided to stay put and have a quiet one. I won’t mention what time Ian got up! We had a brunch of eggs and bacon, then pottered around having a good tidy up and sort out. Spent the afternoon reading.
Prince Edward Island soil is a rich red and it is renowned for its potatoes. The red dust is everywhere and the sand on the beach is red, so after the storm the sea has turned a rich red colour, looks quite amazing.
Put our coats on and walked backed to the restaurant for tea again tonight….and I had a seafood platter with local scallops and mussels as well as lobster…didn’t deserve it after sitting around all day, but very nice.
