The Rhine, before the thunderstorm.
|
Last night we made the decision that we needed to head to Dusseldorf
and collect the original papers for the van that Steve had sent to Conny and
Hitten and that we needed to sort out the sale of the van in Germany, before we
head to France. It has been advertised for two weeks and there are a few people
interested.
This morning it was raining as we set out on a drive north
on the motorways, and all went very easily. While we were driving had a few
calls from Hitten regarding more enquiries for Ruakiwi, seems that things might
be happening. We had a few breaks on the motorway and arrived at this campsite
which is beside the Rhine. Its such a great spot and a shame we couldn’t spend
a bit more time here.
We had just arrived when Hitten rang to say that we have
prospective buyers who are going to meet us at the campsite that we have
arranged near to their home, tomorrow afternoon. And then another call to say
we have someone from the nearby town of Essen interested and will go and see
them on Monday if we have no sale. So at this stage of our travels we are
having to focus on the sale. This afternoon I had a good clean through which
really doesn’t take too long, and walked a short distance to the Edeka store
for a few things. We were enjoying sitting outside when the sky got darker, quite
a bit of wind and after the thunder the rain came. Hopefully it will clear soon
and we can go and sit down by the river and watch the traffic that is going
through. The Rhine is very low and we are noticing that the barges are not
carrying the loads they normally do.

Our team played a grand game against Argentina last night, might shut up the fucking critics for a short time.
All the years and locations you have stimulated and inspired us with your adventures, perhaps a new method " jet boating " of transportation in your future.
Lots of Love
