Saturday August 27, Neuffen

Our view tonight of Hohenneuffen Castle

Ian and I have made the tough decision to sell the motorhome at the end of this year’s travels, not easy but we feel it is the right time. Our good friends, Conny and Hitten have been so helpful and have listed it on several German sites in the past week. There has been a lot of interest as there is a real demand for motorhomes in Europe at the moment. Conny received a call regarding it and the guy was really interested and after discussion we decided to travel south to meet him. It was a bit out of the way of our intended travels but felt it was worth a go.  It was pouring with rain as we left and got onto the motorway system taking us south to Stuttgart and around the west side to a spot where we had arranged to meet him and his wife. Thankfully the rain eased coming through the vast motorway network around the city and the navigator did a “great job” without any hiccups. So surprised to see a bridge over the motorway that was in fact a car park, utilising every available space.Very pleased to park up after a 1 ½ hour drive, and the rain just bucketed down for the next hour. We are in the Black Forest Region and once it cleared a little we could see the surrounding forest covered hills and old Hohenneuffen Castle high up on the hill. Very spectacular scenery.

Reiner and his wife arrived at 2pm and had a good look around, they have previously owned a Rapido and loved it. We will hear back from them tomorrow but think there is a bit of a stalemate as he really wants it but his wife does not want to buy another motorhome, she wants to be able to stay in hotels. We feel that it will be a no go, but worth letting them check it out.

The air has cleared and it is a very pleasant temperature tonight. Tomorrow we will reroute and continue on.

Motorway travelling...fun trying to understand
the signs!

Torrential rain.

Couldn't believe this parking building over
the motoway!

After the rain the mist was in the valleys.

If you hadn't done the detour to meet the couple, you would have forever been wondering if they were the ones....fingers crossed, the husband may have very persuasive qualities. Those motorways even when on the correct side of the road are harrowing, but to be on the other side....well done driver and navigator. Love the moody last photo.
