Just a short blog, we are still staying at the “Heidemann Hotel” and annoying Conny and Hitten!

Yesterday we took Ruakiwi to Mercedes, about 15 minute’s drive from here with Hitten leading the way, thankfully the Navigator wasn’t needed as we took quite a few back roads. Left her there for a few hours to have a grease, and filter and oil changed and while that was being done, Hitten took us to a department store in Neuss for Ian to get a new watch, sadly his 20 year old watch died soon after we arrived in UK and he wasn’t managing very well without it. Pleased to have Hitten with us as the girl spoke no English and he was able to explain what we needed. Job done, Ian’s happy with a watch back on his wrist and then a short wait to pick up Ruakiwi and back home, once again following Hitten.

Very leisurely afternoon enjoying sitting in the garden under the trees and just relaxing.

This morning it was time to get the bikes out and we all went for a 20km ride on the bike paths and rail trail that is nearby, and my battery behaved perfectly, hopefully the connection is all fixed. There were so many people out and about as we biked through small villages, and cropping fields. It was a good morning enjoying a pleasantly warm day.  I do have to admit to a wee hiccup on my part when I ended up under my bike down a “little incline”,surrounded by stinging nettle, but no damage done, only to my pride. Thankfully Conny didn’t take a photo of me!!!

It’s very quiet here today as a public holiday celebrating Corpus Christie, two weeks after WhitSunday.

And the App I mentioned yesterday for Cycle Routes is Komoot, not Kamoot as Conny pointed out!!!

Oh no Meg! That sounds rather frightening. Certainly doesn’t need repeating or recording 🙃
Glad to hear everything else going well and Connie and Hitten certainly win the prize for marvellous hosts 😊

Sounds like you are getting organised and enjoying life on the road again. Glad it was only your pride that was dented. Take care.
