Thursday August 17, Dusseldorf
Very quaint villages. |
The fog was down this morning,
shrouding the river but by the time we left it had cleared. We decided on
taking a more scenic route back to Dusseldorf, well at least for the first
part. Initially climbed out of the Moselle Valley through a rather nice
forested area following a river before coming out on a large plateau, a very
large cropping area. We joined the motorway through to Polch and a supermarket
stop, then we took a lesser road through to Adenau,, bypassing the racetrack at
Nurburgring. It was a great drive passing through some really nice looking old
towns oozing with character. Then it was
back on the motorway and an hour’s drive to Conny and Hitten’s home near Dusseldorf.
It was so good to see them again,
and as you can imagine we hardly stopped talking, catching up on all their news
of their very exciting and successful journey through Asia. We parked the
camper in the street and are staying in their home.
With this in the centre of a round a bout we certainly knew we were in a racing car area. |
