Some locally grown and freshly picked strawberries for lunch..and they tasted as good as they looked. |

It’s been a pretty laid back sort of a day enjoying just “smelling
the roses” with a slow start. Spotted a sign of a car boot sale in town that we
felt needed investigating, although wasn’t sure what time it was starting. It
was a pleasant walk through town to the sports field where evidently this sale
happens every Thursday, but when we arrived at 11.15 many were already packing
up. I sensed that a lot of the cars are regulars and perhaps go from one town
car boot sale to the next. Anyway enjoyed wandering around but didn’t find
anything to buy.
Back into town and popped into the local butchers shop
and met Bob the Butcher (not Bob the Builder!), a very friendly chap. Certainly
a great selection of quality meats and he cut us a nice piece of steak for
dinner and some freshly sliced ham for lunch. Then into the bakery for some
bread and meandered home enjoying the sunshine. Such a different lifestyle for
us being able to shop like this.
Later this afternoon we drove to
Ingoldmell, another holiday beach town just north of Skegness, and probably
even busier with ferris wheels, rollercoasters and every other amusement you
could imagine. This is the home of Butlins Holiday Camps along with many
others, in fact it is a sea of mobile homes stretching for miles and crowds of
people. Can imagine what it is like once the school holidays start at the end
of next week. Found a very good caravan supply store and added to our
collection ready to kit out the van.
Only a few photos today…just cruising!

This is for Ian - he loves all the different styles of gates. |
|
The Car Boot Sale - they were packing up and evidently started at 7am! |
|
Walked past this field of barley...at least that's what Ian thought it was. |
