Tuesday August 24, Kitwanga RV Park, BC

155 Miles

The rain continued all night and it was still pouring down this morning. Once again we stopped at Canadian Customs and were asked the same questions as yesterday, how long are you staying in Canada and where are you going? Town looked really damp and dismal.

There were waterfalls rushing down the rock hillsides all around town and the drive back out to the Cassiar through the gorge was amazing. Had hoped to see some more bears on the highway but no joy. Such a disappointment not seeing them at stream at Hyder, along with many others who had come for the spectacle.

We continued south down the highway, the road was so good. Kitwanga at the end of the Cassiar is the first town we came to all day and it is only barely surviving. Decided to stay the night at a small camp, just as the rain came back in again. The locals are pleased though as it has dampened down the fires.
