We were heading for a Provincial Park for our camp tonight when we saw this little rest area away from the road and down by a beautiful fresh running river. It looked a pretty good place to “park” for the night and the views couldn’t be better.
Today has been less scenic, although the first part of our drive this morning was through quite a bit of farmland with hay being made.
Timber and pulp is the main industry in this area, and Prince George with a population of about 80,000 is the centre. Saw many pulp mills on the drive in with huge stacks of logs, and rather interesting cone shaped sawdust burners.
A visit to Walmart and a few other stores to stock up on supplies then stopped in the centre of town at the Two Rivers Gallery. A very good gallery with several interesting exhibitions. They were celebrating their 10th anniversary and had an exhibition of 10 x 10” blocks created from all the artists who had exhibited over the past decade. A fascinating cross section of art.
