Tuesday October 11, Villefranche-de-Rouergue

A very serious game of Boules under the trees.

The good news, the “concrete” tablets worked and Ian is on the mend. Another warm sunny day. As Ian hadn’t been into town we wandered in this morning and had a look around and after feeling so desolate yesterday with most shops shut, today was quite different with lots of people out and about and shops are open making it feel much more lively. Shame we are not here on Thursday for their market day which is supposed to be one of the best in the south. We poked into all sorts of shops for a look, but knowing how close we already are to our weight to go home, shopping wasn’t on the agenda.

Lunchtime and we stopped at a small café overlooking the square and enjoyed a really nice lunch. I had Spaghetti Fruits de Mer….lots of seafood mixed into spaghetti and it was really good. Ian opted for the steak, probably a better option for him. Then we meandered back to the apartment, and Ian put his feet up, still feeling a bit washed out.

I got my camera a bit later and wandered around town again, finding streets I had never seen before, just soaking up the atmosphere in this town.  Tomorrow we move and head to Castres. Hear there is a real fuel shortage in France with workers on strike but thankfully we fueled up on our way here.

This half timbered house dates
from the early 1700's.

A very small used book shop.

Blackboard menu for lunch.

Somebody was getting flowers!

Afternoon drinks.

Another play...multiple exposure!
