Double trouble

We have had the most wonderful and special day with Toril
and Trond at their home just out of Tonsberg, it was so warm with the sun
shining, such a contrast to yesterday. It was just over an hour’s drive north
this morning to their home, and the E18 was much quieter, we have since found
out that yesterday was one of the busiest days on Norwegian roads with people
returning from their holidays.
What a warm welcome we received, and we were able to park
Ruakiwi down the bottom of a dead end street, near their garden. It is 5 years
since we met them in NZ and we had a lot of catching up to do as we sat out on
their deck enjoying the view out over the water. After a really yummy lunch
Trond and Toril took us for a drive out to what is know as The End of the
World, or Verduns End, a national park
that looks directly out to sea towards Denmark, with very striking rock
formations. We so enjoyed being driven
around especially for Ian, he could really have a good look around.
Home and sat outside enjoying the sun and a few wines then
Toril cooked a wonderful dinner of fresh salmon with a mango and avocado salad
followed by fresh strawberries. Just a perfect day with great company, and we
wandered down the garden to bed in Ruakiwi.

Grand to catch up with old Friends, how clever of you and Ian to have them across the world.
Promised a dry day in the Wairarapa, might be correct.
