Me and my dog...Kristiansand

And it was another of those places that we felt sad to leave, there was not a breath of wind and the fjord was mirror perfect. Utilised their good water supply to refill our tank, to do a little bit of hand washing and wash the van windows before heading off this morning. The weather is clear and quite mild.

We had just less than two hours’ drive to get to Kristiansand and followed the E18 into the city. Lots of tunnels, think we got to 18 this time. Actually, had to enter a tunnel after we left Feda with a roundabout to get on the main road and a bridge over the fjord. This area of Norway is very mountainous and there is a huge motorway project almost finished that cuts a much more direct route to the city. The huge signs are in place already so guess its not far from being finished. It will certainly make a much more direct route.

We found a designated motorhome stopover just out of town. These sorts of places are becoming more common, and are different to campgrounds which have showers, kitchens and toilets as these only provide facilities that we need which is to empty wastes and refill with water.

There were a few supermarkets not far from camp and we walked there to stock up on a few supplies. And found there was a bus route nearby into the centre of the city which we took this afternoon to have a look around. We struck a really neat bus driver who smiled and said he would give us a senior pass, without us even asking….a 15% discount! Such a pleasant time to just tootle around on a really warm afternoon. My first stop was a wool shop that I had ferreted out..surprise, surprise! I have never seen a shop with so much yarn, I was in paradise wandering around and checking out all the different yarns. Ian very patiently waited for me in the nearby park! Managed to fit a few balls of yarn into my bag!

The town was really busy but in a relaxed way as people seemed to be enjoying the weather. The city had a great vibe, there were petunias flowering everywhere, there were wide pedestrian roads throughout the centre and we joined in, really enjoying it. And enjoyed a cold beer sitting outside people watching. And managed the return journey on the bus with no hiccups. Maybe the country folk are becoming a bit more savvy!

Another tunnel!

Huge new motorway underway.

Loved seeing this littlies enjoying the water.

Impressed with this tower of petunias.

The result from a sandcastle building competition.

Fishmarket...but it was closed.

Reflections in a city window.

Evening light on wildflowers.

Not as pretty as the last few nights but okay.

Wool store paradise!

Good local beer
