Tuesday May 29, Near Rome

A very ominous sky over Lake Bracciano this morning.

A very short blog today any a few quick snaps. We didn’t have far to drive to the Happy Village Camping Ground….sounds “corny” but actually very nice and was recommended to us by friends who stayed here a few weeks ago. It is very close to an exit from the motorway, up in the hills and very quiet, and they provide a free shuttle bus to the railway station at Prima Porta which is only 20 minutes from the centre of Rome. Perfect. There are two very nice swimming pools beside a restaurant surrounded by chairs and umbrellas, but not quite the weather for that at the moment.
A good chance to use their washing machines and driers this afternoon to do the sheets and towels and Ian had a bit of a project pulling out his drivers seat to sort out why it wasn’t turning so well…..he tells me it’s nothing to do with the weight that is sitting in it!
Reading guide books tonight and overwhelmed with everything there is to see in Rome, somehow think we may be staying here a few days. And the weather today has been better than expected, it is drizzling at the moment but much of the day has been fine and quite steamy. The forecast for tomorrow had looked really good, but looking now there seems to be a bit of drizzle again. Guess we just have to get on with it.
Nice spot for a few days in Rome.
