Motorway Mayhem!
Playing with double exposures.

Another blog of two days!! We left our great campspot on the Rhine yesterday, after a good walk into the town to the supermarket to pick up some bread. The weather was not nearly as nice as the day before with a bit of rain predicted. I had booked three nights at the Marina where we have stayed previously, a great spot as only 1 ¼ hours from the ferry and ideal to have a good sort out of the van and a catch up with the washing. I let Jilly take over and we had an hour and half drive with all but the first 20 minutes using motorways. Just so many trucks on the road but the traffic was travelling well and we had a good drive. There were spits of rain by the time we arrived and it soon set in for the afternoon. Too wet to start on the chores, or that was my excuse so curled up with my book! The rain cleared by about 5 with fine weather predicted for the next few days
We were celebrating our 48th wedding anniversary so walked into town and enjoyed a really nice meal. Got talking to the waitress and mentioned it was our anniversary and got a huge surprise when at the end of the meal she brought out a plate with Happy Anniversary written on it in caramel and decorated with 100’s and 1000’s and a big sparkly candle. Made our night. By the time I got the camera out, the candle had stopped!
Woke to sunshine this morning and time to get stuck in to chores. So good to be able to open up all the windows and put lots of stuff outside while I cleaned. Utilised the washing machine and drier to wash a lot of the bedding. Ian pulled everything out of the garage and outside drawers and had a good tidy up. Will finish off sorting out tomorrow.  And a note on the “beef cheek” casserole I cooked at Tolkamer, it turned out so well, the meat just melted and the flavour was great. Perfect winter comfort food.
Interesting clouds in Tolkamer

Where else but Holland!
