Friday November 9, Geertruidenberg

Just a short post as not sure when the next will be. Another busy day finishing the sorting and tidying up before a walk into the wonderful old town of Geertruidenberg. Noticed a house dated 1603. The treelined streets were just glowing in the late afternoon sun, a great afternoon to finish our last full day in Europe.
Tomorrow we take the 2pm ferry from the Hoek of Holland back to Harwich in UK, the 6th crossing of the channel, which is a 7 hour trip. The last 5 have been really calm, but not so sure about tomorrows journey as there is a lot of wind predicted with a storm passing through. Just hoping the worst will be over, else it is going to be a tad miserable for me!!. Will overnight in Ardleigh and drive up to Steve and Kathy’s on Sunday morning, an early start as we are off to a late Sunday lunch, looking forward to it.

And now the winters' winds blow cold
From all points of the compass
And hitherto the friendly sea
Has saved its worst
For such as thee
Who dare to sail its' surface

I could also recommend James Walpole and sons of Jermyn St, just off Piccadily circus ,purveyors of fine porcelain to Her Majesty the Queen, and numerous cross channel shipping firms.
