Sunday October 7 Sant Pere Pescador

Spotted the shepherd this morning.

We had quite a long trip today so were up and away by 9…early for us! The weather is changing and it is much cooler and for the first hour the wind was really strong blowing us around a bit. Once again driving through some pretty arid landscape before passing a huge hydro lake. With irrigation available we were into a peach growing area. We have eaten many Spanish peaches and wondered where they came from, and this was only the start of it, there were peach orchards and packing houses everywhere.
Most of todays journey to the northern coast was spent on dual carriageway motorways. Had a few stops at fuel stations, good to refuel with a coffee stop and lunch…in our van, with no other places to pull over for a break. The weather is changing, noticing many more clouds ahead and the forecast is for some much cooler days. Maybe summer in the northern hemisphere is nearing an end.
By mid afternoon we had arrived at a campground right on the Cost Brava coast where Conny and Hitten were out to meet us. So good to see them again…almost three months since we left them in Dusseldorf. This really is a great part of the coast, not nearly as built up as we had experienced in the Cost del Sol in the south. Checked in, parked up and then caught up on all the news….over a bubbles or two…as you do. The camp is just a short walk from the beach, we wandered out and I had a paddle in the Med which really was surprisingly warm, but with the cool wind blowing there was no way I wanted to have a swim. Conny had cooked a great chicken dish for dinner and we sat outside, but were well rugged up, the temperature has just plummeted, and as I write this I can hear rain on the roof, the first for so long. After talking about how hot it has been for months, don’t really think I like this!!!

Got to love this translation at the camp

The med...and all rugged up!
