The Intrepid Travellers

A perfectly relaxed day enjoying kicking back with very pleasant warm temperatures and a light breeze.
Yesterday we spotted an amazing Mercedes Off-Road motorhome park up on the marina, and when we went for a walk this morning we got talking to the guys in it, both from Germany. The base vehicle was purchased from the German military and Marcus had the body custom made. It really is impressive. Marcus currently has his friend Malte travelling with him. He started this journey in April with a shakedown trip to the North Cap in Norway and tomorrow they are heading across to Morocco for the start of his African journey. Marcus has plans of travelling for the next 6 years and will have friends join him for sections of the journey. He may even end up in New Zealand! He is travelling with his 6 month old Vissler puppy, Rieta, what a life for her.
This afternoon we walked into La Linea with directions for the heart of the town, a real Spanish area full of tapa bars. It was fascinating, with families out wandering the streets and sitting under umbrellas and enjoying the food and drinks. The little narrow lanes were car free and just endless bars. There were so many to choose from, so it was a “pig in a poke”, but made a good choice. Had some good tapas including calamari, octopus and beef cheeks. Love being able to try small dishes of different food. And of course, a few cold ones. We sat for ages just enjoying watching the busy crowds, really relaxing.
Back to the motorhome and relaxing with a good book, what could be better.

Beef cheek tapa...yum

A band was setting up in the side streets.

...and by the amount of spirits it was going to be a big party!

Not sure what was going down, but surprised to
see the policeman smoking!

Time for exercise on the promenade
