Saturday September 1, Cobreces

Last light on the monastery tonight.

Have really enjoyed our stay here, decided to spend another night. Washed all the bed linen this morning and hung it on the line before getting our bikes out and heading off to the coast. There is a real network of small sealed roads through the farmland on the coast, ideal for a good ride, and grateful of the electric assist as quite up and down. We came across a little inlet and a weir where there had been an old mill, and just the stone framework of the buildings remained.
Continued along the coast in perfect weather, clear skies and temperatures in the mid 20’s. The road took us down to the Playa (beach) which was seething with people and cars. This coast is popular with surfers and noticed a surf school happening on the sand. So many people enjoying the day, setting up under umbrellas and just relaxing at the beach.
We had a very leisurely day, chatted with a really nice Netherlands couple who come to Spain for two months every autumn. Before Ian put the bikes away I took mine out for another evening ride, loving my bike!
A rugged coast.

Old mill buildings.

Views to the Picos Mountains

Some people shouldn't wear bikinis!!!
Surprised to see a fire had been lit tonight.
