Sunday July 15, Geertruidenberg Marina, Netherlands.

Perfect weather

Cannot believe our luck with our fifth crossing of the channel, and probably the best ever. It was that flat I am sure you could have skied across. And for someone who doesn’t manage being on the ocean very well, I didn’t even need to take a sea sick tablet! The sky was blue with a few puffy clouds and wonderfully warm. We were at the ferry terminal at Harwich by 8am ready for the 10am crossing. Have always booked into the Stena Lounge on our previous crossings which is a quiet area with comfortable lounges, and free tea/coffee, nibbles and beer and wine but it was booked out. So, decided to book a cabin which also meant Ian could stretch out and it was a great call, we lay on the bed and watched the finals at Wimbledon and the start of the World Cup final. Perfect and a definite plan for future trips. The seven hour trip passed very quickly.
And what an easy trip from the ferry with hardly any cars on the road, everyone was watching the World Cup! Although I had to concentrate on Jilly as the motorways are a maze of roads and cloverleaf junctions and Ian was settling into driving on the other side of the road, we arrived without any wrong turnings or recalculations by Jilly. I had booked us into this marina for two nights, had spent four nights here at the end of last years trip and it suits perfectly as only about 1 ¼ hours from the ferry terminal.
Temperatures sit at 28 degrees tonight, ready for a cold drink when we arrived at 8 o’clock.  I had ordered a fan from Amazon that we could run off the invertor, but when we saw it thought it was going to be too big and told Steve he could have it. But as the temperatures warmed, I was an Indian giver and decided we would take it and try it out. Sorry Steve, you won’t be getting it now, invaluable, we had it running last night and it kept a nice breeze circulating, perfect to sleep with.
Ready and waiting for a new adventure.

Farewell to Harwich, see you again in November!

This guy had a great setup, obviously done it before!

Relaxed!

Doesn't get any flatter than this.

Met a couple from Tauranga, they had found
a table just vacated by two truckies who had
finished their breakfast and were off for a sleep.
18 bottles between them!!

"Interesting" placement of the hand rail
on the boat!!!

Have just discovered how to insert a map of where we are, still fine tuning it!!!
As you can see there are 2 maps...can't delete the second one!!!
