Wednesday October 2, Walmart, Cedar City

Zion, but from a distance!
Yes, we are still here, and still no change to the Government shutdown. Decided that we would look around town today just in case things were happening, but looking less and less unlikely so tomorrow we are heading south. A quiet day after a great nights sleep, surprising how quiet this corner of the car park is. Lazy morning checking out some of the stores nearby, then visited the info centre. The lady was great and suggested a scenic route heading north a little then up into the mountains, and back into town, the scenery looked amazing. But soon found a sign suggesting no trailers and that there was a 13% incline, climbing 4000 feet we decided that it was just too much to expect from Ruakiwi, so headed back into town and went for a walk.
Got talking with a lady in a town gallery and she told us about a good view you could get of Zion late afternoon by heading south about 12 miles and taking a side road. As had nothing else planned followed her directions and it was great.
Back to our “Walmart”campsite and off to a Mexican restaurant for dinner, good meal and great staff.
Summer grasses
Evening light

and a great sunset...over Walmart!
