Wednesday August 21, Anacortes, Washington

Just a short blog tonight, have arrived at Terry and Sherry’s this afternoon, safe and well. It was an early start this morning, back at San Francisco airport at 7.15 for our 9.15 flight to Seattle. We flew Alaskan Airlines and for the first time had to pay for our checked in luggage, $20 per bag. Interesting it seems most people are getting away with this charge by packing everything in their carry on bags, there seems to be no weight check on them, not like in NZ where all carry on bags are now weighed and have to be under 7kg. It was a good flight and the weather is just superb, then onto the shuttle bus for a 2 hour trip to Anacortes. Such a wonderful afternoon, we sat out on the deck overlooking the harbour enjoying the last of the late summmer sun, and relaxed.  Sherry cooked koho wild salmon for dinner along with freshly picked sweetcorn and brocolli….a perfect north west meal.
Tomorrow it is off to the storage yard to get Ruakiwi and see how she has faired after her 2 year “holiday”. Sorry no photos today, think the brain is in slow mode still!!!
