Monday September 5, …yep still at Chinook!
Ian was up early and off with the guys at 7.00 am….I enjoyed a bit of a sleep in. Went for a good walk up to the little village of Chinook and wondered around the port area where small boats were coming and going. Called back into the market again and got chatting to Linda and her granddaughter Marika who were selling hand knitted socks and other beautiful hand knitted and dyed accessories. We got discussing the differences between traditional and continental knitting so Linda gave me a lesson, very interesting. Came back to camp and tried it out…persevering, it is different but really a lot quicker, must keep trying!
Had a very relaxed afternoon chatting with some of the other campers The guys arrived back about five, they had a great day and Ian came home with a really nice Chinook salmon and a coho salmon, and they also got 4 dungeness crabs. These are huge. We have a nice piece of salmon vacuumed packed to take to Anacortes with us, and tonight after they were cooked I had the most wonderful meal of crab, straight out of the shell. Just couldn’t be fresher. The flavour was so good.
