Big Sky Montana, here we come!
Set off East this morning under grey skies and quite cool, but as we left the tree covered hills and valleys and the land opened up, so did the temperatures. A beautiful warm dry day in the mid to high 20’s. Such a sight as we followed the glacial blue Clark Fork River, it is still very high with a touch a snow still showing on the mountain tops.
Had a lunch stop in the small town of Plains before arriving in Missoula mid afternoon, felt like returning home as we pulled up outside Casey and Richard’s…..again!!! But we were too close not to do a slight detour to catch up with them all. Delightful Moana is now four and she was pretty pleased to see “The Ratbag’s” again….her name for us. And wee Opehlia who was just a small baby last year is now walking everywhere, one cute little girl.
We had a great night catching up although Casey had tickets to a concert in town. A treat after dinner was a walk around the block to The Big Dipper, the favourite ice cream spot in town, where it is all made locally. Such a balmy beautiful evening to be out walking, as the sun was setting on the hills. The crowds of people getting their evening treats was amazing. My coconut ice cream was superb and Ian enjoyed his licorice. Perfect end to another great day.
