Tuesday Jun 28, Campbell River

Have had a real low key day checking out the town. Left the van in camp and walked, I think we both needed the exercise although all dead flat so no real challenges. It was so nice not to have any plans today and I really enjoyed browsing in the stores and the little galleries, while Ian found a number of marine stores.

Had a coffee and sandwich at a Tim Hortons shop, as a chain they always have freshly made food and good coffee.

Called into a chocolate store..just investigating on your behalf Nicky! Anyway it was great watching them make the chocolates and the girls were so helpful. Joanne used to live on the Sunshine Coast where we are going tomorrow and was so helpful with lots of ideas of places to visit.

Quadra Island is just across the Strait from town and it was interesting to see the ribbon like wisp of sea fog hanging just above the water line of the island.

It was a long walk back to camp along the shoreline and stumbled across the pub where we ate last night, felt we needed a beer while we had a rest!

Sounds like you are having a wonderful time - as usual! Very interested in your photos and impressions of the places we visited in 2004 with Janine - we only got to see mainly the east coast from Nanaimo south but it was beautiful. Love Coxy's

Great to hear from you. Have really loved the island, it is quite unique. Catching a ferry back to the mainland today.

Howdy Whanau, enjoying your adventures second hand. Wonderful pictures Meg and you are so good at getting people involved. We fine, work busy, Vicki had a mental health day when the kids became a bit much. Winter still very mild, only three frosts to date but plenty of rain. Been still in Christchurch for the last 10 days. Love Ed.

Hi Ed
Life on the road is settling into the gypsy lifestyle, life is good!
Glad to hear that Christchurch has stopped rocking for the moment. Long may it continue
