Thursday July 29, Waterfront Campground, Seward, AK

Wonderful day…no rain, although the sun didn’t make an appearance!
We had a very “cruisey” day, checked out the boat harbour and the marine shops, and wandered round the small stores that line the harbour.
Also managed to catch up with Holly and Keith again who were heading out with a group to Bear Glacier, an hours water taxi trip from Seward. They were camping out and were kayaking and hiking….a great outdoor adventure. We really admire them and all their outdoor activities, it is very healthy sport.
We have also booked to do a 6 hour cruise out to the glaciers tomorrow, the guide that is organizing Keith and Holly’s trip recommended the company so we took his advice. www.KenaiFjords.com and we are doing the National Park Tour. This is on the catamaran which is the most stable vessel, so hopefully my very weak stomach will cope. Ron sent me off to buy some special oil that you rub in behind your ear lobes, he swears by it, so will let you know tomorrow night if it has worked!
Had a late lunch at some old railway carriages called the Smoke Shack…they smoke their meats there and it sure tasted good. It was a good walk back to camp, enjoy getting a bit of exercise.
Picked up my emails this afternoon and great to hear from so many people, glad you are enjoying traveling with us.
