Storm coming in over the marina

I have been very lax with my blog over the last few days, seem to have been pre-occupied with making our way to UK and selling the van.

Left Germany on Thursday after swapping our gas bottle for a full one and stocking up on supplies. Normally we would be looking for some less busy roads but decided to use the motorways for the 2 ½ hour drive to Geertruidenberg. It all went very smoothly but kept us on our toes as we switched from one motorway system to another, and another…etc. The roading system in Holland is brilliant and handles so much traffic, at times there was just a solid line of trucks.

Finally got the motorhome listed on Auto Trader UK which was rather difficult, but eventually got it there. Then our emails went down. Spent much of yesterday sorting it out with Spark NZ on their chat line, and have to compliment them on their efficiency and help. Seems their security system closed the account down after it had been accessed fraudulently. It took ages but finally got it reopened with new passwords and breathed another big sigh of relief. Cleared our heads with a walk into town to pick up some bread for lunch and last night walked in again to our favourite restaurant for dinner. A very nice evening after a rather stressful day.

Had a lot of rain overnight and showers today, but went out walking again checking out some of the house boats on the river, and have had a bit of a relaxing day. Tomorrow we will leave about 9 and head to the ferry terminal for our return to UK. Have felt rather sad with the news of the passing of Queen Elizabeth, she really was an amazing lady who devoted herself to her people.

This is one of the oldest towns in Holland.

Not a bad houseboat!

There is such a lot of sadness at the moment with the boating tragedy and the Queens passing. Hope your crossing goes well tomorrow and your sale also happens quickly and efficiently. Love your marina photo. Xx

Wonderful light in your photo of the storm over the marina. Good luck with the sale prospects for the van. Travel safely.
