Friday May 3, Geertuidenberg

Last night's view of the marina from Ruakiwi - nice spot.

I guess it won’t be long before I am struggling with the heat but at the moment it would be nice to have a bit more warmth. The sun was out this morning and it was very pleasant before it turned cooler and then we have had “spitty” sort of rain all afternoon.
We did get the bikes out today for the first time this trip and it felt so good to be back on our wheels again. Tootled into town along the seemingly endless cycle paths that are everywhere in Holland, even at the traffic lights there is a button to push at the cyclist’s height. Found a caravan store where Ian looked for a replacement “O” ring for the heater, but no luck. Did get some new levelling ramps though, our original ones were gifted from Steve and they have finally flattened. After lunch we walked into the nearby village and picked up some really nice Dutch cheese at the Friday market.
Tomorrow we are off to Conny and Hitten’s who live near Dusseldorf in Germany, will be so good to catch up with them again. It is three years since we first met them in Norway and since then they have been to NZ to visit us and we have visited them at their home many times as well as meeting up with them in Spain last year.
A bit lax with photos today but will include a couple I took last evening.
Passed this house boat on our way into town this morning,
appears to be washing day!

"Nigel no Mates" - Ruakiwi last night (although there were
four other campers)
