Thursday November 3 – Dusseldorf
The entrance to a local Benedictine monastery. |
Just a brief update, we are
still enjoying this wonderful “hotel”, and feel very lucky to be able to experience
everyday life with a German family. Ruakiwi was taken to the motorhome company
yesterday and we will collect it today and drop it off to Mercedes to have a
full service done.
Yesterday we passed by the
power generation plants, these really are the ugly side of Germany, and such a
contrast to the beautiful autumn colours of the forests.
And we had our first visit to
an IKEA store, and what an experience and understand now why it is such a
popular company. Perhaps it was a good thing that we have so little room in our
bags! Maybe one day they will come to New Zealand.
