Thursday Sep 1…..sorry, it is actually River’s End Campground in Chinook, Washington
Mileage travelled today….zero! It has been a cleaning and polishing day, Ian has been on the outside and I have been on the inside. Did about 3 loads of washing as well. A great day for this sort of thing with a gentle breeze and temperatures in the low 20’s. We are just pottering away with our jobs, thoroughly enjoying the atmosphere of this camp. Ian borrowed a ladder from the camp owners to get up higher on the rig. Not rushing, more to do tomorrow.
The camp has a lot of regulars, mainly people who come for the fishing. Anyway many of them gather late afternoon for a few drinks, and we joined in. Made very welcome and met lots of people including Jane who owns the most glorious “Rotten-doodle”, a cross between a rotweiller and a poodle. He is the so well behaved, will try and get a photo of him for the blog over the next few days.
Also got talking with Jenny who is a knitter, spinner and photographer….guess you would have to say we have a lot in common! Anyway she is into hand knitting beautiful socks and also has an antique sock making machine, a bit like a more modern day knitting machine but it is circular. “Heatherbelle, you would have been very interested in what she was doing”! Jenny also has a small electric spinning machine to use when she is in their motor home, a great little machine. Brought back many memories of spinning on the farm.
All in all a very pleasant way to end the day.
