230 Miles

It was hard leaving Mt Robson this morning, the past 5 days have been a wonderful time for a break from our travels. We felt so refreshed and ready for the last 3 weeks of our holiday. It was late morning before we finally got away, the weather was misty and the mountain hidden in the clouds.
We caught up with Norene’s daughter, Neysa at the supermarket in Valemount as we bought a few supplies before heading south.
Breathtaking mountain scenery all the way down to Clearwater, with fresh snow on the mountains and lots of rushing rivers.
It was late afternoon, but we decided to continue onto Kamloops, and the light on the hills was pretty special. Soon we were into the ever widening valley of the North Thompson River, and so strange to see farming, livestock and cropping….probably the first for several months.
Arriving into Kamloops was a real culture shock though as the green mountains and valleys became very yellow arid hills, obviously this area of the country has not had the rain that we have had all summer. Kamloops is built on the hills surrounding the rivers, and seems to be quite a big city. Tonight we are camped at Walmart along with about 15 other motor homes……couldn’t be more different than last night!
