Sunday August 1, Keith and Holly;s, Anchorage, AK

80 Miles

Wow did we sleep well with the sounds of the waterfall through the window. This morning the cloud was right down low as we drove back into town. It looked quite deserted as the cruise boat had left over night, along with all the associated activity. We were talking to a store keeper and evidently there are 2 boats in a week, which means 3,000 passengers arriving in port and departing with each ship, a total of 12,000 extra people through the little town, a huge source of income.
It is the busiest port in Alaska, as it is so deep and icefree.
Wondered around then it was back out through the tunnel, a really enjoyable visit.

Checked out the ski resort town of Girdwood just off the highway before heading back into Anchorage. We are staying with Keith and Holly again as need to try and sort out the leak problem in Anchorage tomorrow, we don’t want to keep driving with it like it is as it is such a mission to dry it out after it rains…which seems to be quite often! Although today has been great, very warm and even saw the sun at times.

Keith and Holly returned from their expedition to Bear Glacier this morning, we had a look through their wonderful photos, what an amazing experience.
