180 Miles

Yes, we have made it back safely and it seems so strange to be parked back in the carpark at Walmart after the remote places we have traveled through over the last 5 days….1000 miles of mostly unsealed roads.
It was really warm overnight and all day it has been getting hotter…tonight it is 30 degrees. Our first stop this morning was at the Hot Spot Café just north of the Yukon River. Just a classic little place, a favourite spot on the road for travelers. Ian bought a TShirt…”Haul Road Tough”! We do feel pretty impressed with ourselves for completing this trip.
It was an uneventful trip back into town, blue skies, lots of dust…not sure if the mud or the dust is the worst! Arrived back at about 4pm and first stop was the RV wash.  $45 later and she was looking almost back to normal. The calcium chloride that they use on all the roads was stuck all up under the chassis, so it was a case of just blasting it all off.
The beer back at Walmart tasted pretty good. We are going to walk across the highway to Chillis for a meal tonight.
