Monday July 13th Spafford Park, Cloquet MN

Into the Ford agency in town this morning, but they weren’t able to service the vehicle as their hoists weren’t big enough. They suggested we try a truck service company just down the road, and have booked Ruakiwi in for 7 in the morning…it will be an early start.

Such a relaxed small town, and a good campground, we were more than happy to have a relaxed day. Cy mentioned the best butchers shop around…so stocked up on some good meat.

Found a few interesting shops not far from the camp, in what appeared to be an older area of town….it looked quite deserted. The antique shop had a coffee shop attached, the décor was fantastic…and had some home made biscuits with the coffee.

Spotted a tropical fish store, amazed at the colours of the little salt water fish, and they were also selling living coral….just beautiful. This store is evidently a destination shop for “fish fancies” from miles around. Aquariums are really popular and the winter is the busiest time for the store when it is too cold to do anything outside…and that is for months!

Quiet afternoon, apart from Ian giving the van a wash and we went for a bike ride around the trail nearby.
