August 31 Ferry Terminal Hoek van Holland on route to Ardleigh, England

Shopping expedition
Have several hours to wait before we check in for the 2.15 sailing, a good chance for a short catch up on the blog, although not a lot to report.
Seems like it is time to leave after quite a bit of rain overnight and much cooler temperatures. Spent yesterday sorting out bits and pieces, getting washing done and a trip to the supermarket on our bikes for a few things. Quite a laid back sort of a day really, but very enjoyable.
Up quite early this morning – or earlier than we have been getting up!! Did all the emptying and filling on Ruakiwi before setting off in the drizzly rain at 8.45am. Set Jilly for the terminal, just over an 1¼ hour drive, and she did an admirable job, negotiating us through the huge maze of motorways that allow this huge population to get around their small country. We went in tunnels under the water and at one stage were in a cloverleaf at the top of 4 layers of roads. Cannot imagine how it would be possible to do this without a GPS.
So now sitting in the queue and the sun has come out. Could be a bit more wind than our previous crossings so hoping that I manage okay!!!
Hundreds of acres of glasshouses.

This really is a good cloverleaf - see GPS below.
Jilly navigated no sweat!

Tunnels under the water - just what Auckland needs!

Can you bring home a tunnel😀

Can't believe why Auckland just doesn't bite the bullet and put one in Lynn. Make it a toll, people would happily pay it if it made a smoother journey.

We can't understand it either.... but it's money and govt might need to help... forward planning doesn't seem to be a Kiwi strength🤔🤔🤔
