Wednesday November 6th…Albuquerque
Not a lot
to report from today, and in fact haven’t even taken a photo!!! We visited a
possible storage location nearby for Ruakiwi if she hasn’t sold by the time we
leave in December, and it looked really good. Then onto one of the local
shopping areas to get supplies and have a mooch around. Have really noticed the
huge Mexican influence with signs in the supermarkets in both English and
Spanish, feel like we are really in a different country. And boy do we like
their food, although perhaps not as much chile as they like! Lunched today in a
great little neighbourhood burrito café. (Sorry Lynn, didn’t have my camera!)
Interesting
though as we drove back into camp saw the sign saying that the road we are
staying on is the original Route 66, and read that there are large parts of it
through New Mexico.
Afternoon
disappeared with laundry and getting packed for our trip to Atlanta tomorrow, so looking forward to
seeing my brother and family and celebrating Nicole and Shaun’s wedding.
Not
planning on doing much with the blog during this time, but will try and post a
few pictures from the wedding. Will be back in Albuquerque
next Tuesday afternoon, ready to spend the last few weeks having a good look
around New Mexico and some of Texas.
Couldn’t
load the blog without a photo…have included a favourite from Zion National
Park, in black and white.
