Homecomings

Everyone is so pleased to see us home.....it seems we have brought some really good weather with us. Evidently there has been nothing but rain and wind for the past 6 weeks. Since Sunday the sun has shone and the wind has dropped. Tarawera is alive with birds, the tuis are everywhere, what a sight to see them flitting around the wild cherry trees which are in full white blossom, and the pigeons are darting in and out. Certainly a great welcome.
We had a really uneventful flight home. The weather was stunning as we flew out of Seattle and San Francisco was a picture, hardly a cloud in the sky. This is our first time to this airport and it certainly was much better than LA.

We had asked for an upgrade on airpoints for the 13 hour flight back to NZ and delighted to find when we collected our boarding pass that we were successful. Wow, the service, food and comfort in Premium Pacific was amazing, a real treat to finish our trip.

A very excited Aidan was at the airport with Dean to meet us....he had been counting the sleeps till we came home. The day passed with a blur, Ella seems to have grown up so much and is now talking really well. Had a wonderful day with Dean and Janine and Ian's mum and sister joined us for dinner. The drive over to Craig and Nicky's was a bit scary, driving back on the other side of the road, at night with wet roads made us both concentrate. The kids were pleased to see us, and the "goodie" bags we had brought home were very well received!

Amazed to see what was a concrete pad when we left, now had their new house on it, which should be finished in about two months. How things change in four months.
Collected Molly the dog from our friends, she had a great holiday too and was pleased to see us. She doesn't seem to fret when we are away, just quite an adaptable little dog.
Now it's back to a slower pace of life, and time to get our feet back on the ground and enjoy a New Zealand summer with our family and friends. Life is pretty good.
No more blogs.....until our next trip!

AMAZING! I loved every word and image! You have to tell me how to replicate the abstract photos. Do you simply slow the shutter speed and move the camera ever so slightly?
